The Clark County Commissioners Unanimously Approve Plans for The Shaquille O’Neal Youth Development Complex

“On Wednesday, February 19th, The Shaquille O'Neal Foundation received approval to move forward with the development of The Shaquille O'Neal Youth Development Complex in Las Vegas. The Clark County Commissioners unanimously endorsed plans for the new facility, which will be located near the intersection of Lamb and Lake Mead.

Commission Chairman Tick Segerblom highlighted the strategic location, noting that three elementary schools are directly across from the facility’s location. “This is a perfect location for this facility,” he remarked during the hearing.

The complex will cover approximately 34,000 square feet and will feature a gym, a mixed martial arts and boxing center, Pre-K services, and more. The $24 million project will house the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and an alumni center for Communities In Schools of Nevada. The programming will ensure vital resources for education, leadership, career development, and wellness.”
