SHAQ-TO-SCHOOL IS A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO PROVIDE BASIC SCHOOL SUPPLIES NEEDED BY KIDS WITH SOCIOECONOMIC CHALLENGES.
In 2024, Shaq-to-School served hundreds of students from Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and Communities In Schools of Nevada. Students received backpacks with school supplies to get them ready for the school year, all while enjoying popcorn, cotton candy, face painting, carnival games, and even a surprise from Shaquille.
In 2022, the program hosted hundreds of elementary, middle, and high school students in Las Vegas. Every student received a backpack full of school supplies to get them ready for the upcoming year. Additionally, another 500 backpacks and supplies were donated to students in Las Vegas and Atlanta.
In 2019, giveaways were held in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, benefiting nearly 5,000 children. Participants were elementary through high school aged children, primarily from Title I schools, and received a backpack filled with school supplies and a new pair of shoes. In addition, another 250,000 school supplies were donated to Communities in Schools sites across the country, with an estimated economic impact of 10 million dollars.
